Crockpot Recipe: Organic Chicken Curry & Rice

You are here: Home / Fun Foods for Families / Crockpot Recipe: Organic Chicken Curry & Rice

Fun Foods for Families

Some of my best memories from childhood is spending time at my Grandmother’s house during the summer. My Grandfather would take us swimming most of the day and when we’d come home my Grandmother would have made one of our favorite meals. The meal I always picked, her chicken curry. A few years ago I asked her for the recipe, it’s quite simple and I easily used organic ingredients like chicken and vegetables and put it in a Crockpot instead of over the stove.

Ingredients
  • 5 organic carrots
  • 4 organic potatoes
  • 3 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp hot madris curry powder
  • 1 organic yellow onion
  • 2 organic chicken breasts (chopped up)
  • 1 cup organic milk
  • 1.2 cup organic heavy cream
  • 1tsp garlic powder
  • Calrose rice
Instructions
  1. Since you’re using a Crockpot this should be simple. Place all ingredients in the Crockpot and stir. I also added the chicken at the end so I could taste how potent the curry was. Cook on high for 4 hours. Or cook on low for 8. The rice should be done separately and serve curry mixture over rice.

Yum! I would love to try this sans the chicken to keep it kosher. Thanks for the inspiration!
