This past weekend my friends and I gathered and had a mini party of sorts. All of us being social media moms it was nice to share a comfy meal and just chat about our happenings. Many times when I make meals I go off of what I’m craving. For a while now have wanted some good old fashioned soup, salad, and breadsticks so that’s exactly what we had. This wasn’t just any dinner party either I got to show off one of my new favorite ingredient for fall, Knorr Homestyle Stock.
This wasn’t just any meal I wanted to make it special and feel like fall. I just wanted to have fun with it so I did! I decided to make a pumpkin soup bowl. My sweet husband did all the labor and he added a bowl inside because I was afraid the pumpkin would leach into the soup. This would be perfect for a party though, put punch in that could mix well with pumpkin, it could be really fun!
I of course wanted to make Parmesan Breadsticks by hand so that’s exactly what I did. My husband had a genius way of rolling the dough so he also helped, he’s so great at technical things in the kitchen.
The Knorr Homestyle Stock Chicken Noodle Soup was pretty simple to make. I used just a few simple ingredients. Chicken breast, carrots, celery, potatoes, onion, egg noodles and Knorr Homestyle Chicken Stock.
I simply boiled the chicken, added all veggies and used a fork to pull apart the chicken leaving big hearty chunks and then added the stock. An hour before I expected to serve it I added the noodles. My husband agreed that it was really great for a person who has never made soup before. It really was too, everyone enjoyed it and I think the Knorr just added that extra bit that it needed without making it taste artificial. I plan on making it again and again!
I set up a salad bar of sorts so my friends could get whatever they wanted.I also served the soup in the middle of round dining room table.
All in all the party was so wonderful. I had a great time with great friends and to top it off great food. I can easily say everyone enjoyed their meal and we had a little treat in the spirit of fun. This spooky cake which I’ll tell you more about later.
everything looks delicious!! and that pumpkin makes everything so festive! great idea…
Love it. Especially love the idea of using pumpkins as bowls. Very festive.
I love serving things in pumpkins, but have never served soup–very clever and festive! I cannot wait to find out more about your cake too!
