Sitting down in the El Capitan Theater surrounded by celebrities and friends I had this feeling of how proud I was to be there. Like many kids Disney has been a large part of my life, from romantic story tales that made me feel like anything was possible to incredible adventures that inspired my imagination. I think sitting there we all felt it, a little emotional at the whole experience. If you asked me two years ago if I ever thought I’d get this experience I would have told you no way! Disney has always made me feel like anything was possible and that’s still the way I feel.
As we walked onto the green grass carpet we were greeted with the sound of African music and as we made our way into the theater I happened to capture a few images.
I have to say the most emotional experience was sitting inside the theater surrounded by all that energy. As we walked in there was a man playing Disney classics on a organ. Looking around there was such detail in the old El Capitan Theater.
And then as the screen opened there was another screen with such amazing detail and lights. Sparkly curtain opened and the movie started immediately. One of my favorite parts of the movie is the beginning it starts with an African chant and pride rock. It’s such highly charged energy, and the energy in the theater gave me goosebumps.
I’ve seen the movie, you’ve probably seen the movie but what makes it truly unique is the 3D. The movie has also been restored but it’s crisp and clean and didn’t lose it’s classic Disney hand drawn characters. I’ll go into more detail on how 3D is made, the process is unique and quite amazing really. After the movie we mingled with celebs at an after party. Some of the celebs were even nice enough to take photos with us.
Melissa Joan Hart and the girls from Disney’s ANT Farm plus many others!
My favorite celebrity was….
I really want to say thank you to the women who I got to know, my fellow mom bloggers. We all had this unique and unforgettable experience together so thank you for your support. To the wonderful women at Click Comm whom I’ve known for so very long, they made this moms life better. I was flown for free to LA for this premiere although my trip was paid for it would never affect what I said. To Disney for giving me so many happy memories throughout my life and for allowing me to give the same to my children. There’s nothing quite like the magic of Disney!
Kristin,
It was great meeting you at the Lion King 3D event. What a time we had, huh? I just took the family to see the movie yesterday and I still loved it! It was great to hear my kids and husband’s laughter throughout the movie.
Great write up on Second Screen. Until we meet again!
Lori
Looks like it was a blast! Can’t wait to take the kids…
