Today was our big adventure day, my husband planned to take me all the way into Yosemite National Park. I grew up in California and have never been to Yosemite and I have to say it’s glorious. The views are breathtaking and it’s just short of amazing.
We first hiked up up to Vernal Falls then down to Mirror Lake. The drove up to Glacier Point and hiked up to the peak. In total we did 8 miles but had we had more time would have spent days hiking up the valley.
The hike itself wasn’t easy, I’ve hiked in Oregon and this was a sheer climb and took us much longer to do 2 miles. I’m sure the 11,000 foot elevation didn’t help either.
Hiking up to Vernal Falls they carved stairs out of the rocks. There were people going up and down having to climb around one another on the wet rocks. I would suggest being an intermediate hiker if you plan on making it to the top.
We could spend a few more days hiking, rafting and exploring but felt like we got to see a lot. Tomorrow my husband and I plan on driving into King’s Canyon to see the World’s Largest Tree and give it a hug.
Great views! It makes me want to go visit there! No ideas the falls were so gorgeous.
It does sound glorious.
What a great picture of the two of you. You’re looking lovely and I can’t wait to squish you!!!
