Indoor and Outdoor Family Adventures and Things To Do In Cleveland, Ohio

Family Travel With Kids

This summer I know many of us will be planning summer getaways with our families. Even if it’s staying close to home every summer we try to make some sort of vacation happen. Last year we were lucky enough to take quite a few trips and vacations and with each one we made so many memories.

On Monday I will be heading to Cleveland, Ohio. I remember only small portions since the one time I was there I was literally in and out with Brooklin visiting Pampers Headquarters. The last thing I was thinking about was checking out the city.

My travel expenses and tickets to get into local landmarks are being provided by Positively Cleveland. Among places we will be visiting I am most looking forward to Lake Erie Shores & Islands but I’ll be taken on an ultimate look at everything there is to see and do for families around the Cleveland area.

Places we’ll be visiting:

  • Kalahari Resort
  • Ghostly Manor
  • Maritime Museum of Sandusky
  • Merry-Go-Round Museum
  • Put-in-Bay island tour
  • Cedar Point Amusement Park
  • Castaway Bay
  • African Elephant Crossing at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo
  • Cleveland Museum of Natural History
  • Cleveland Botanical Gardens
  • West Side Market
  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
  • b.a. Sweetie Candy Company

While I’ll be away for the week a lot will be happening in other parts of my life. I want to encourage you all to explore your local metro areas. One of the things I like best about living in the Portland metro area is there is so much to do. Go take your kids out and explore your city. Things like the Cleveland pass will allow you to get admissions to see local attractions all in one bundled deal. Many cities have them so you just have to look, we did it in New York and saved so much money with admission prices to some of New York’s tallest spots. Literally!

This summer take the time to find local events, farmers markets, museums with your kids.

We go to Cedar Point every summer without fail, and did even when we lived in S. Fl. for 18 years. I can’t wait to read your adventures. I hope the weather stays nice for ya’s.
