Tonight our family joined hundreds of others at the Oregon Zoo for ZooLights. It’s something that has to be done around the holidays and is such a great way to get out as a family.
Did you know there are over 1 million lights at ZooLights? More than 200 animated animals swing through trees, jump across lawns, hide in bushes and appear in places where they’re least expected. It’s fun to find and point out all the different lights, and actually walk through the darkness only lit by lights. And on certain nights there’s also performances, a great way to bring in the holiday cheer.
Something new this year are these glasses you can buy for only a few bucks inside the ZooStore. You look through them and you can see different things. I got a snowman, and snowflake pair and Kai had fun wearing them. Seeing all the lights with a neat affect. My husband had the bright idea to shoot a picture through the glasses.
Here’s some of our pictures from ZooLights 2010.
The Oregon Zoo gave my family passes to ZooLights for a press and media night.

REALLY AWESOME!!!! Very pretty. I bet your kids had so much fun! They are so lucky to have a mother like you to bring them to these places. Amazing!
How pretty! I used to live in Oregon and I loved the zoo but never made it out to zoolights.
That is so cool! We have a botanical garden here that does this.
What an awesome thing to have an opportunity to go to! The lights are beautiful and I bet the kiddos thought it was great! 🙂
I love the snake! We have the Hollidazzle parade that runs til Christmas Eve. Lots of lighted everything! Looks like a blast! Thanks for the pics!
