Oregon Zoo – ZooLights 2010

Family Travel With Kids

Tonight our family joined hundreds of others at the Oregon Zoo for ZooLights. It’s something that has to be done around the holidays and is such a great way to get out as a family.

Did you know there are over 1 million lights at ZooLights? More than 200 animated animals swing through trees, jump across lawns, hide in bushes and appear in places where they’re least expected. It’s fun to find and point out all the different lights, and actually walk through the darkness only lit by lights. And on certain nights there’s also performances, a great way to bring in the holiday cheer.

Something new this year are these glasses you can buy for only a few bucks inside the ZooStore. You look through them and you can see different things. I got a snowman, and snowflake pair and Kai had fun wearing them. Seeing all the lights with a neat affect. My husband had the bright idea to shoot a picture through the glasses.

Here’s some of our pictures from ZooLights 2010.

I haven’t been to Zoo lights in a while! Maybe this year I will go. Your pics are great. I never miss P.I.R. or the Christmas boats! I love this time of year! (besides the cold and wet)
