Disneyland Magic – The Walt Disney Castle Meaning To Me

You are here: Home / Everything Disney / Disneyland Magic – The Walt Disney Castle Meaning To Me

Everything Disney Family Travel With Kids

Walt Disney – Disneyland would never be completed as long as there was imagination left in the world.

It’s the Disney trademark and every year holds the memories of hundreds of thousands of visitors. It’s the castle that holds so many memories for so many. On our trip this year Kaila, while holding my hand as we were about to walk into the castle turned to me and asked “Mommy, who is that holding Mickey’s hand?”

Kaila was finally told about the creator of Disney, Walt. In many ways I can see where he was coming from and his legacy was a great one. Kaila thinks he made a magical place and I have to agree.

Did you know that Main Street Disney is modeled after Walt’s home town? Or to make the castle spires sparkle, Walt Disney wanted them plated with 22-karat gold but his brother, Roy was opposed. So Walt sent him away on a business trip and had it done while he was gone! Another twist to this all is that all of them are gold but one.

There’s also two time capsules and other hidden treasures around the park. The story of Walt is a great one and his quote is so true.

So much is happening all around the Disney family. New cruise lines, an island paradise in Hawaii, additions to the California parks, and the ever evolving Disney World. Disney is a place where dreams come true and we watch as our children’s eyes sparkle. We hold our children with joy as fireworks light up the sky. It’s truly magical.

What does the Disneyworld or Disneyland Castle mean to you?

Did you also know that the Walt Disney fashioned his castle after the famous Neuschuanstein castle in Germany? They are both truly magical, although I’ve never been to Disney’s.

Awesome photos Kristin! I hope to visit while I’m in Cali right now but with the crazy weather they’re having here, there’s a chance we’re stuck in my moms’ house! =(
