Holiday Gift Guide: Tech Gifts – HTC One S for T-Mobile

TMobile HTC One S Picture Smartphone Better Than iPhone

Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s almost time for Christmas and for the tech lover why not get them a new phone? Being that I am with T-Mobile I personally love their coverage, and their affordable plans aren’t so bad either. I was recently sent the HTC One S and was thrilled with the camera quality. Yes, the most imporatnt feature for me is the camera and the HTC One S has it!

The HTC One S is an awesome HPSA 4g phone and by far the best we have owned, which should be the expectation with new technology right? It does everything that one would expect from a smartphone and more. It has a super high quality camera for pictures and video, or both at the same time. It uses Beats Audio for high quality sound and has a lightweight and slim body for comfort and is HTC™s thinnest phone yet. Don’t worry it still has a strong battery life. It has a large 4.3 inch AMOLED screen that is so bright and vibrant so using it anywhere on the go is no problem.

Picture Taking With TMobile HTC One S
What I like best about the HTC One S is the camera. Its high quality of course shoots 1080HD, but what is neat about it is you can also take pictures while recording.  Packing an 8MP camera with a F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens makes your pictures crisp, clear and especially quick to take. I would say one of the best camera phones on the market, compared to the current iPhone and our MyTouch Slide. Already the Slide shoots better pictures than the current iPhone just check out my pictures on my Twitter feed and even blog.

HTC One S Picture Features It also has awesome photo capabilities like less than a second start-up for camera use and with the HTC ImageChip, pictures can be snapped regardless of lighting and movement. This is super important with wanting to get that picture in the moment, which is essential to us with our kids. It also has built in photo edit options like the ones you find on Instagram. Plus it has rapid-fire continuous shooting makes it easy to take a series of pictures allowing you to choose from the best ones later. You just hold the picture button and the phone will continuously take pictures till its released, any smartphone user can see the benefit of being able to take multiple pictures, without waiting for one photo to process. And lighting will not ruin your shots anymore regardless of low light, no light and/or back lighting. Another option is HDR which allows us to take a picture and the One S instantaneously takes 3 images of different exposure blending them to get the best exposure from all shots showing the most detail. Check the screenshots to then left for some of the picture (top) and video (bottom) options and features.

And for those who use their phone for multimedia uses, sound on the HTC One S is created by Beats Audio making music, videos, games sound rich and authentic. I like to use a phone when on the train or walking for watching news clips, shows, and listening to music, and having quality sound is essential to turn the One S into the only device I need to carry plus I use it to listen to my favorite radio stations to mix it up.

What I really like about the HTC One is the design. It is so thin and lightweight, yet very durable and rugged. It nice because when I have it in my pocket, it is not a burden pulling my pocket down or bulging, which is important for the utility of carrying it around. It has a 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass screen making the screen tough. It comes in to 2 different finishes: ultra-matte black and an anodized gradient.

It has a 1.5GHz~1.7GHz dual core processor, 1 GB RAM and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which tops all other Android OS. It also has HTC Sense 4.0 which is a custom collection of tools, features, and innovative user interfaces making your phone easier to do what you need it to do and setting it apart from non-HTC Android smartphones. Other hardware features include a gyro sensor, g-sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor which all help to add to the functionality of this phone. It also has DLN® for wirelessly streaming media from your phone to a compatible TV or computer micro-USB 2.0 (5-pin) port with mobile high-definition video link (MHL) for USB or HDMI connection (Special cable required for HDMI connection) and of course has a front forward camera which we use for our T-Mobile video chat. It can also be used as a hotspot, which we find very convenient at many times while traveling which is an important reason to have a good 4G service like our T-Mobile service.

Some other features I like are trace and swipe, which allow you to drag your finger from letter to letter on the keyboard to spell out what you are typing, instead of pecking. Its built in proximity sensor is good because it turns off the screen when on a call to avoid hanging up, which got old. And of course GPS with talking navigation is good for anywhere. It has a lot more which you can see by checking HTCs page here.

We are very happy with this new phone and it is by far one of the best on the market for T-Mobile. If you want something easy to carry, has the highest quality camera and media abilities, which is very important to a bloggers, then the HTC One S is something you should check out.

Check out T-Mobile for current pricing and plans for the HTC One S.
