It’s not often that my family enjoys a meal while we’re out and about but when we do we like to eat as fresh as possible. One thing I personally love is a fresh turkey sandwich. Especially during the long fall and winter months I crave turkey. There’s just nothing quite like a good turkey sandwich so I was thrilled when we were sent a gift card to go check out the new Grand Turkey Club which by far is one of my newest favorite sandwiches. The Grand Turkey Club has deliciously sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, melted swiss cheese and sweet bacon on top. I personally love that it’s all served on this whole wheat roll, in fact the bread was almost my favorite part. It comes with mayo but since I’m not a mayo person I went without. It was so delicious and the added tomato and melted cheese made the turkey that much better. I’d say a warm turkey sammy like this makes those rainy falls days not so bad after all.
Other fall favorites from Arby’s include their shakes, if and when we do go out we like to have it as a treat and Arby’s has wonderful shakes that always brighten my kiddos day. I personally love all the new turkey offerings at Arby’s. Ti’s the season for comfort food and Arby’s has that good mood food for dreary fall days. Having lunch at Arby’s today just totally made my day and I love that the turkey doesnt leave you feeling heavy. It’s light and fun and so are the other turkey sandwiches now at Arby’s.
Living in Oregon our fall and winters are long. It rains a lot here, a whole lot so we often look for things to do to brighten our day. Be it lunch out as a special treat, indoor mini golf and play place or a simple trip to the gym days can seem awful long if you don’t have some fun. Some of our favorite things to do in the rainy months is trying to stay busy with gymnastics and playdates but also baking and cooking at home. There’s nothing my girls like better than being in the kitchen with mommy so I often am inspired by seasonal flavors to guide what’s on the menu. Cooking with my girls is a great way for our family to spend time together but honestly I just love how warm and cozy the house feels when there’s something in the oven. I want my children to have the same memories I had a child when my own mom did a lot of cooking and baking with me.
I’d love to know what inspires you in those long deary fall days? What are your fall favorites?
