Fun Foods For The 4th – Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

I love deviled eggs but in trying to create a new twist on an old classic I came up with this fun recipe that everyone will love. Pack up a tray and head to the 4th of July bbq and trust me they’ll be all wondering who made these tasty treats.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs Recipe

What You Will Need:

  • 12 organic eggs
  • bacon (I used an aged organic bacon from Organic Prairie)
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbps mustard

What To Do:

Boil the eggs like you’d make deviled eggs and cool them at room temperature. Cook the bacon to crispy and save 2 tbps of bacon fat. After you cut the eggs in half and save the yolks, add the bacon fat, cheddar cheese and 2 tbps mustard and whip together. You want the cheese to be very fine and after some whipping you’ll see it disappears into the egg mix. You may need a little more bacon fat and black pepper. Fill the eggs with the mix and chop the cooked bacon. Gently top eggs with bacon and refrigerate.

    Thank you, thank you for posting this deviled egg recipe. I’m always looking for a new deviled egg recipe to spice things up. This sounds really tasty. I never would think to add the bacon fat. Can’t wait to try this.
