I sat in the bathroom door watching Brooklin and Kaila take a bath tonight. Usually I stand in the bathroom and hover but not tonight. I sat outside watching Brooklin splash around. Every time she splashed harder Kaila would giggle more. Finally they both were in full belly laughs splashing around. Usually I would have stopped them, said don’t splash.
But not tonight.
Some days the guilt overcomes me. By dinner time I am screaming for some peace. You know the crazy get out of here eyes. Yeah I usually have those too.
All day long one needs water, the other needs a snack. They both need to play, but not together for long. One cries. The other cries. naptime comes, ahhh silence, time to clean. Then it’s like a tornado all over again. Brooklin gets chair, climbs and gets things on counter. Kaila screams at Brooklin. They both cry. Shut the gate. Time for a snack. Mommy I’m bored. Can I go play? Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Daddy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy. Brooklin get out of that. Don’t climb on that. Don’t stick that in your nose. Get your hand out of that. Brooklin!
Then it’s dinner time. Lately dinner has felt like my final tap out bell. Oh yes, dinner! Dinner means bedtime.
But not tonight.

I love days like this. They’re perfect for rejuvenation and YOU deserve it!
