Betty Crocker – Bake Life Sweeter

The past two months have been a whirlwind. First, Kaila celebrated her fifth birthday and only a few short weeks later Brooklin celebrated her first birthday. Every year I’d like to honor each of them within our family. Have close family and friends gather to celebrate their lives. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my two tiny beings.

This year with help from Betty Crocker and My Blog Spark I was sent coupons for free cake making supplies, a gift card for expenses as well as a Flip Video Camcorder to document their special days. Being the tree hugging mom I am I decided to skip out on the decorations and fancy plates. I washed dishes and instead felt rather proud of myself. I did however purchase outdoor toys, including a pool, water sprinkler, chalk, water balloons and squirt guns. I bough things that could be enjoyed throughout summer and we created a water play day party.

BettyCrocker.com has all your party-planning needs, including instructional videos, shopping lists, party activities and games, and even invitations that can be printed from your home computer! I used some of the party planning ideas and mixed in my own for our families preference.  There’s a wide variety of great party themes to choose from, including:

Out of this World Space Party

Firehouse Party

Under the Sea Mermaid Party

Pony Pals Party

Train Party

Magical Princess Party

Pandas Forever Party

Robots Rule Party

Kai is busy planning a Pony and Pals party for next year. Complete with matching cowgirl cake, which she’d like me to make myself. I like to bake, no actually I love to bake. I’m only starting to get into decorating with the help of blogs like Oh My Sugar High. I asked Kaila what kind of cake I should make for their pool party. Kai requested green and pink polka dots, with layers of white cake. Thankfully Betty Crocker makes a great bright white frosting so the polka dots turned out really cute. My husband {after baking this cake} came home with frosting tips and extra decorating goodies for my next cake attempt.

I am actually planning a get together later this week and I’m using the BettyCrocker.com website to help me plan. I think this year I will also do my very first Halloween party, my mom did one for us every year and it was Betty Crocker who helped her with her creepy designs. Now that there is an easy to use website I know I’ll be finding party tips throughout the year.
