I was so excited when I was asked to be a part of a special program for LeapFrog.

Released today the LeapFrog Leapster Explorer!

Since we got a chance to try it out I’d love to share my review of the LeapFrog Leapster Explorer. We often use hand-held games in the car, plane, or on long trips. It’s nice to have something to keep Kai’s little hands and mind busy when we’re on-the-go. The LeapFrog Leapster Explorer is the ultimate mobile gaming system for children and is much better than playing apps on my smartphone.

What’s truly unique about the Explorer is the Leaplet apps. The Leaplet apps are downloadable apps including e-Books, videos, and more games. What I love about the apps are less games laying around. They are easily assessable right form the game console. The e-books are books from the Tag library. It also has educational activities like flash cards and other educational tools.

The games by far are my favorite of any hand-held system. The LeapFrog games have always seemed to have better overall graphics and gameplay. Kai received the Disney Princess game for her Explorer and has already made her way through the game. Available games include Disney Princess, Toy Story 3, Dora the Explorer, Penguins of Madagascar, Ben 10, Disney Fairies, Wolverine and the X-Men, NFL Rush, Spongebob SquarePants, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

What i like most about LeapFrog products is the Learning Path. It allows me to log online and see her progress through games, and activities she does. All of her LeapFrog games and books have this ability and my husband and I both enjoy seeing her progress. You can also purchase expansion packs, like a camera. We already plan on getting Kaila the camera.

Official shelf date is July 15, and pre-order is already underway, via LeapFrog and our retailers’ sites.
