Teething 101 – Cutting Top teeth

Sometimes it feels like baby’s first teeth can take forever. Some of them seem to be allusive. They come and go. You know the ones!  For the past month we’ve had one of those teeth. The front teeth are the hardest to cut. Brooklin has only wanted to nurse…. constantly. I don’t blame her, she has no sense of pain or what’s happening. I know when my mouth hurts someone needs to watch out. Teeth pain, hurts!

How To Soothe A Teething Baby:

  • Cold! Anything cold is good, throw a washcloth in the freezer. It helps. Even a cold spoon.
  • Numb the gum: with gels, and natural teething supplements. Hyland’s teething tablets are all natural and they work!
  • Less stress more play! Take your mind of the teeth and your baby’s. Go outside and enjoy the day. You will find both of you have been soothed. Teething isn’t easy on anyone.
  • Fight the fever: If your baby starts to get a fever from teething most of my doctors say it is not normal. Always call your doctor before giving medicine. Although I have found Tylenol helps a cranky teething baby sleep better.

Teething is never easy and no two babies are alike. But as soon as that tooth pokes through, you and your baby will find happiness again.

Awww poor Brooklin! I remember when Jaxon was getting his top teeth, now each tooth is no problem for him.

Poor thing. Teething isn’t fun for anybody involved.

That first pic is so pitiful!! I just wanna pick her up and cuddles her!

Once Ariana’s tooth broke through the skin, it was instant relief. Those top ones I am NOT looking forward to.

  4. Oh poor girl. I remember Ben’s teeth, it sucks. Wil is drooling like mad but no little sprouts yet. Hugs to her and you!

Its much better now with a lot less drool. She still has the next one getting ready, which will be fun. Hopefully it pokes through fairly quickly. I was surprised how quickly it cut through, and she has been a completely different baby since.

    Awe, poor little one!
Good tips too, have you tried Hazelwood yet?
It was the only thing that took away the pain for my Twins!
I wish I had known for my first, for sure!

    :)

So sad. It breaks you heart to see a little one in pain and I can’t imagine how scary it must be to be in pain and know why or how to ask for help.
