The Love Of A Sister

by Kristin on February 4, 2010

I remember the day they met. That day they both gained a best friend and worst enemy.

I myself am a sister. I am a little sister and every day I watch Brooklin.

She’s the little sister too!

Sometimes little sisters can never get it right. They’re always so annoying, bossy, or uneasy. In Brooklin’s case she pulls hair and invades her space. I guess little sisters just do that, it’s a unique dynamic that neihter of them have begun to figure out.

Kaila tends to just stay away. Hide up on chairs, the couch. Brooklin just terrorizes the floor, always into everything.

Today I watched Brooklin crawling all over Kaila, invading her space while she was trying to do something. She got up, and sat on the chair. As if staying out of her touch would make her go away.

It doesn’t.

Brooklin looks up at her.

Brooklin looks up to her.

She loves her.

It’s not like her love for me.

She’s the little sister.

Awww, How sweet. I can relate to this. Even though I have two younger brothers I do have three daughters. I am telling the two older ones how the younger one looks up to them and wants to be just like them.

Sweet post! I know this is exactly how Kayla and Kelsie are too. The little sister has a special role as does the big sister. I am always telling Kayla she has to be careful with what she does or says, if it isn’t nice because to her Kelsie is her role model. She wants to be just like her.

That is so true Joanna.

She’s just all over the place now isn’t she?!?!
Those girls will be so close! My sister and I are only 18months apart and she’s my B/F/F! We fought like cats and dogs when we were younger, but all siblings do. :)

My Shelby (age7) and Emily (17 months) are pretty close too. Emily loves to hang with her big sister. It’s cute to watch. I know it won’t always be like that. So, I’m enjoying it while it lasts. :)

Nothing better then a sibling bond. I don’t have any brothers or sisters…well I have a step brother but that didn’t happen until I was 17 so we really don’t have a relationship. I love watching my boys love and torture each other and know they’ll always have each other’s backs!

Oh yes, the little sister can be a pain but we big sisters grow up and realize just how special our little sisters are! I love you my little sister! Kaila & Brooklin will always have a special relationship.

Isn’t it sweet to see sibling relationships?
You must remind them of this when they’re teenagers and having death matches!
:P

SO sweet! I’m the oldest sister of 5 (including myself) and sadly ~ I’m not close to one of them. 3 of them are from my dad, which I didn’t grow up with, so they don’t count ~ but my 1 sister from my mom is just still too immature, and sadly our relationship sucks.

I wish it didn’t, because I’d love to have a sister that I was close too.

You know it’s tough being the oldest sister…being the oldest to four younger siblings, the pressure is really on. We try so hard to be ourselves and have our own identity and yet our younger siblings want what we have too. Sibling relationships can be so complicated, lets hope with the two of them…they grow into something ever so special!

So true Karie, I hope to nurture their relationship.
