Giveaway will end Dec 20th

In the next week our family is going to be traveling a total of about 2,300 miles. Luckily our long road trip is going to be made much easier with our new Audiovox 8″ Portable DVD System. We have honestly been wanting to purchase a portable DVD system for some time now but since we were given one for a review, I couldn’t be happier with this system.

At only $99 it’s a great value!

It is a good value and nice to as a perfect gift idea. You get everything you need for movies on the go. Included with the DVD player unit you get dual headphones (dual headphone jack on player), remote control, car headrest mounting solution, A/V cables, wall power adapter, 12v car outlet power adapter, and carrying case. There’s nothing else you need to purchase and it’s perfect with its 8″ wide screen. The actual picture quality is really good, looks just as good as Kai’s pink princess TV in her room. It also has a built in rechargable battery which lasted through a whole movie and more. In the car it can plug into the 12 v accessory outlet and have unlimited play.

If you don’t already have one or are looking for a good gift idea. Especially families who travel with children look at the Audiovox 8″ Portable DVD System, it has the best deal for your money.

For the toddler, we use a magnet board that’s easy to take with us. Another one is to prepare ahead of time by talking through what will happen.

1) Make sure they aren’t too close together in the back seat or the toddler might poke the baby in the eyes (I had it happen)

2)Try planning games like I spy to pass the time

Ok, well my kids are teen’s now, so traveling with them is a bit easier than with toddlers and babies. Tip number one is to have plenty of food and drinks nearby. It might make a mess in your car, but it will provide them something to do to keep them busy. Tip number two, bring lots of toys and books!
It’s never too early for your toddler to read or even pretend to read. Show her/him how to ‘read’ (making up the story to match the pictures) and your toddler can ‘read’ the book to the baby on the trip. Good luck on your trip!!
I tweeted this too. Thank you!

For the toddler..have some simple, travel friendly wrapped gifts that she can open periodically along the way.
For the baby..soft music playing in the car and plenty of rest stops with hugs and cuddles.

Sticker books for the toddler – a sticker for the good things, a black mark for the naughy ones. Max of 3 black marks. Something really cool at the end of the trip as a reward.

For the baby? Hmmm…lots of lovin’ and plenty of diapers.

Tip 1: Don’t overschedule your trips; you and your kids will be too exhausted and cranky to enjoy anything!

Tip 2: Try to grab a few minutes a day to keep a journal of your trips with your kids…you’ll be glad you did later
