My sister sent Kaila an Elf On A Shelf, and right away I knew it was special. Before bedtime tonight, I decided it was a good time to start this new tradition. I brought out the tiny adorable Elf and the book. Kaila gave him a name “EL.” Sounds almost like the famous fashion magazine. I really can’t wait to see her excitement as the days pass on.
So what is Elf on a Shelf? It’s a tiny elf and a book. Children are supposed to behave since the little elf reports back to Santa each night. In the morning your children wake up to the elf coming back from his/her journey to the North Pole. They wake to find the elf in a different spot. But wait! No touching (which Kaila did at first by accident), because then your elf will lose his magic. On the night before Christmas he returns to the north pole only to be brought out again next year before Christmas.
Seriously, what a great gift idea for families!
I read her the book and I explained as we went along what was going to happen. I think we are all going to love little El.

My girlfriend does that with her kids! Each morning the elf has done something surprising. Like, tonight the elf is going to fill their bedrooms with toilet paper
Too stinking cute….we are cutting rings off to get to santa…i love it! This time of year is so fun for the kids.
She isnt supposed to touch it. Thats bad news for santa…..didnt you read the book.
I think its okay for her to touch him, before he has a name. Because once she names him he is part of your family and now she can share her secrets with him! I hope you all enjoy this fun tradition and it will be neat to see how Brooklin embraces it!

I had an elf on the shelf and then it went home to santa on christmas and i cryed soooooooooooooooooooooo super sooooooo much and i really miss him now!!!!
my elf on the shelf’s name is jingles and i made him a home made blankit to bring home and i really miss my elf on the shelf hes a really nice elf!!!!!!!!
oh and one more thing i always here song and it reminds me about jingles (crying)
and i m not a cry baby i just really miss him and love him!! =(
