Let me just add I was backing up along it. I didn’t just drive asnd run over it. But yes, I’m a dum-mass.

I just found your blog a few days ago ;) it took me 3 tries to get my license because I got the same woman for every test that felt I should be held to a higher standard than a 16 yr old because I would be driving my then 4 month old daughter around. It sucked but I eventually got it. Where I live you are allowed to go back the next day though. There was no waiting period.

Shiiit — I seriously need my speakers to be hooked back up. I’ll have to come back, or hijack his ‘puter and watch. But judging by the title of the video? That sucks, and I’m sorry.

Omg, I would soooooo fail a driving test nowadays….I didnt have to take a real test at the DMV or anything, I took behind the wheel at school and he did a “test” one day and I passed that, he sent that to DMV and I got my license.

BTW, I will add I ALWAYS hit curbs…I then yell “curb check” and laugh about it…my friend keeps saying “YES the curb is STILL there!” I’m bad at some of the drive throughs around here as I go around to the window I hit their curbs lol.

Ugh! Bummer Kristin. I’m dreading when I get out on the road… friggin’ nerve wracking. Anyway, keep at it girl!!

Shh! Don’t tell anyone but I failed my test 3x! Stupid crap too. First was in a blizzard. School was cancelled, my test wasn’t. By the time the streets were plowed they were little my 3 point turn was a 5 point turn (so I wouldn’t hit the curb) he failed me.

Second, he told me to turn around in a driveaway. I refused (its illegal in MA) he failed my for not following directions WTF?!?!

Third. Brought me to a paved park and asked me to back up 50 feet. I swurved because I didn’t have anything to line up against.

Fourth I got a new person (previous 3 were with same ass) passed no problem. Hubby was in the back seat too this time.

Glad I’m not the only one. Now I need to practice backing up. Sa-weet!

FAIL. I say that with love. You’re lucky my suitcase has wheels.

11 Sandra November 5, 2009 at 9:05 pm

I know i’ve already told you, but it took me 3 times until I passed. My first drivers test was perfect too except I didn’t look over my shoulder when I pulled away from the curb. BOOO. I did check my mirrors but apparently that doesn’t count. :(
Don’t worry, you can practice and then get a perfect score next time :)

12 Chelle November 5, 2009 at 10:44 pm

Girl, I’m so sorry! I can’t believe they fail for that?! Everyone runs over curbs!!

And Brooklin is sooo cute there! Love her! And you! Sending good vibes for your next test :) xoxo

I would NEVER be able to pass one today. And shh…I can’t parallel park at all. I got lucky when I took mine. The guy that did it went to school with my dad so he called and made sure that I got him. So I might have not passed other wise. I didn’t get a fair test. And to think they gave a 16 year old a drivers license on a favor! All I had to do was drive around a small block in a neighbor hood and park the car.

Good Luck next time! If it was all perfect except for the curb, you should definitely get it!

ROFL doood that is awesome! So curbs totally suck and parallel parking…took me 2 tries. I got my license @ 17…..and lots of tickets ever since. Driving is WAY overrated. You can do eeet…..third time is a charm! I wub joo

15 The Jacobsen Family November 6, 2009 at 10:04 am

Hang in there, you’ll get it!! =)

16 Liz November 6, 2009 at 10:30 am

Sorry, I’m the worst driver ever, so don’t feel bad. It was sheer luck that I passed 15 years ago, lol!

17 Amanda November 6, 2009 at 12:27 pm

I’m really trying not to laugh. it totally sucks! 3’s a charm?

I guess I got lucky because I went for my test with no practicing whatsoever! I got my permit and said that in one month I was going to go back and take the test. I didn’t care if I passed or failed. So I made my apt. for one month after getting my permit (for the 3rd time) and I passed. My heart was beating so fast I thought I was going to pass out.

yeah I had my permit for 3 years and didn’t practice ONCE! I was scared… deathly scared to drive. Now I love it. Gives you a sense of freedom

18 kristin November 6, 2009 at 12:39 pm

I’m thinking 3rd times a charm?

Or I just need to stay off the road! :D

19 Nancy M. November 6, 2009 at 2:30 pm

Is this your first time getting a license? Just wondering, down here we don’t have to take it after the first time. So, I haven’t taken it since I was 16. Good luck next time!

20 Del November 6, 2009 at 4:53 pm

No, you need to get your license. You know how fun it is having to drive her downtown 2 days a week and then pick her up…not fun. She should be able to pass next time. Hopefully my insurance agent doesn’t ask how many times it took for her to pass her test.

Yes, this is her first time getting a license. She has to pass the driven part before she can get licensed.

21 kristin November 6, 2009 at 6:11 pm

ROFL…. Delfino :)

22 CaseyDeuce November 6, 2009 at 9:26 pm

Dude, it took my cousin 5 times to get her drivers license. You’re totally not alone. Eff that curb. WTF good is a curb anyways unless there’s a fancy pants beautiful durdle laying there underneath it??

Miss you, lurve yew.

23 Can Can (Mom Most Traveled) November 6, 2009 at 11:23 pm

I failed my first time too, but I went back the next day and got it. So maybe you shouldn’t wait so long for the re-take! :)

24 Tammi @ My organized Chaos November 6, 2009 at 11:44 pm

You know, I managed to parallel JUST for my test and haven’t been able to do it since…go figure!
You’ll pass next time, just watch those curbs…and garden gnomes. Now those jump out at you!! {nope, there’s no story behind that…nope…}

;)
