If you’re in the market for new computer and you’re considering getting a laptop, Hewlett Packard has a variety of great gifts for any budget. I own two HP laptops and we love them both. The newest addition is my ultra portable HP dv2 laptop. Since HP has come out with the HP DV2, they have a newer model with more power which is called the HP DV4 laptop.

Why do I love my HP laptop?
Hello, it’s ultra-portable! It’s lightweight design makes it perfect for travel and even better for school. For such a small computer the HP DV2 packs a lot of punch. It’s powerful computing power means that I am able to run all of the programs I use for editing videos, photos, and websites. I am able to run the entire Adobe Suite seamlessly with my 4 GB of DDR Ram. This computer also packs a Dual AMD Turion x2 Neo Platform. Which means that it has the power and capabilities of a a much larger desktop. Also it has a ATI Radeon Mobility video graphics card which is enough to run graphic intensive games.
This HP DV2 laptop has an additional option of a external Blu-ray player with light scribe technology which is able to burn an image onto lightscribe usable discs. They decided to leave it out, and this has been a good idea. We rarely use a DVD/Blu-ray player, so it saves on weight and size. When we need one, we plug up the blu-ray drive.
The super bright LED screen makes colors and videos look great! Compared to our several year old HP DV6000 which has a standard LCD screen, the screen is bright and makes the conventional screen look almost yellow. I also love the built in web-cam which I use it a lot. Makes recording vlogs a cinch!
One of the things that is the hardest things to get used to is the keyboard. The keys do not sit as high, so mis-keying is a pain, but that is mostly due to size. The keyboard is low profile, but I understand that it is due to size. It’s a rather small computer. We sometimes use our external Microsoft keyboard which connects via the built in blue tooth adapter.
This is the sae laptop that HP gave me a while back and I really wanted to share with you the new HP DV4 and why I love my dv2.
However please know that the HP DVv2 or the HP DV4 laptop is not a netbook! Each one is a powerful ultra-portable computer with the guts and abilities of a powerful desktop. And while the HP DV4 replaced the DV2, HP is currently having great deals on the DV4.
I believe if you are looking for a laptop or computer this season you should look at the HP DV4 or others they carry. We have had no problems with our HP’s. They run stable and nothing has broke on us. If you are looking at compact yet high performance laptop, the DV line is a right way to go.
You can find the HP DV4 base model for $579 (they have some deals going on right now.) You can even upgrade it for an extra cost. It’s a wonderful deal right in time for Christmas.

That looks like such a great laptop for an amazing price. I love how thin it is. I have been looking at laptops recently and hinting around to Lee for Christmas. He knows I really need one, so I’m sending him over to take a looksie later
Oooh I likey! I love my HP Mini, but that dv4 is just a sleek and sexy little number.
The DV line of computers are pretty powerful. They do cost more when they are built up, but if you need a powerful laptop that is easy to move and use, then the DV series is a great choice.
I never thought I would use a laptop in class, but after Kristin got this DV2, its perfect for portability. I have used our DV6000 for class before, but it was too much in size and weight (its your standard sized 15 in widescreen laptop.) The DV is not too much bigger than your standard laptop, but having this lightweight and fast computer makes doing work on the go, a snap.
I haven’t looked at HP Laptops, after this review, I may extend my seach for a laptop later this year. Thanks for the review
