My turkey tip is use the cooking bag!

13 Mike C November 21, 2009 at 11:56 pm

A lot of people try fancy bastings, but here’s a tip… use only olive oil. It leaves great coloring and brings out the natural turkey flavor.

14 Carolyn G November 22, 2009 at 12:30 pm

My Turkey tip is to thaw the turkey in the frig uncovered. This dries out the skin and thus you get a crispier skin!

Just cook it in the oven, no bag

20 Chris N November 22, 2009 at 5:12 pm

Brining is the key to a moist turkey. Put the turkey in a bucket of water with salt, pepper corns and brown sugar.

21 Karen Gonyea November 22, 2009 at 8:02 pm

Make sure to add some fruit in the turkey – gives it a nice citrus flavor.

22 Regina November 23, 2009 at 7:37 am

Let the turkey cool down a bit before slicing.

23 Daniel Bates November 23, 2009 at 1:26 pm

by putting onions on the inside of it will make it taste better, well at least i think so

24 ky2here November 23, 2009 at 7:38 pm

For the love of god, take out those plastic bags of nasty crap before you bake it!

25 Chelsey Burke November 23, 2009 at 8:14 pm

26 Angela Winesburg November 23, 2009 at 9:39 pm

My turkey tip, remember if it doesn’t work out, there is always KFC!

27 Kellie Conklin November 23, 2009 at 10:43 pm

My turkey tip is to always use your tried and true method of defrosting and cooking because so many times something someone swears by doesn’t work with all turkeys!! Thanks for the contest!

I saw this on Martha Stewart but you can brine a turkey with apple cider. I would have never thought of that but it looked so delicious.

For a simple kids craft, white paper plates can be cut and glued together to look like a pilgrim’s hat.

32 Saebbe Reidhead November 24, 2009 at 9:49 pm

Brine your turkey for 12 hours! It’s turns out super juicy and carmelized. YUM!!

If you are going to deep fat fry a turkey, make sure it is thawed out and the outside moisture has been removed by patting it down with paper towels. Otherwise you may have a very bad burn on your hands.

50 George Ferris November 25, 2009 at 10:18 am

Either go out to eat turkey or have someone else make it. It saves a lot of time, mess and money.
