I Hope She Knows..

by Kristin on November 4, 2009

Kaila my BeautyI’ve been through a lot in my life , I sometimes was a bad daughter, sister and friend. Even in my darkest days I’ve always found light, and my mother (or aunt) always made me feel worthy. For all the bad things that happened in my childhood I always look up to my aunt, she tried so hard. In so many ways I see her in myself, she is strong willed yet kind. Hard to figure out, yet soft and caring. Supportive and strong, yet inside she too needs all the support she gives. She is goofy and giggly and always knows how to make me smile. It’s those qualities that inspire me as an adult.

I hope that my daughters see these things in me. Even when they’re 16 and saying they don’t like me. I hope they can always see the beauty in themselves and know that they too are strong, and capable. I hope that my children will look back on my strengths and my weaknesses. And that somehow within all of my qualities, good and bad they find some inspiration.

Kaila and Brooklin, or rather women of the world. Never give up on your dreams, and always know that you are beautiful!

We always do the best we can as people and as a parent, I know I appreciate all my mom has, will, and will continue to do for me and I’m in my 30s. I like it…made me misty

You’re a wonderful woman and you’re doing a kickass job as a Mom. Though the terrible teenage years are bound to happen, as most girls become attitude city through them, as they get older, they’ll appreciate you in a different way and admire you for the women that you’ve helped them become.

You’re stellar Mama. I lurve yew.

Ahh…I’m sure she knows how much you lover her! Isn’t it great when we can experience the strength of an awesome woman in our lives. It’s even sweeter when we can give that love back!

Beautifully said. I think it’s also funny how we turn out like our moms in one way or another…I never wanted to but I hear at times in how I am with my son. I guess when that maternal clock is officially turned on, a new wisdom and awareness comes … and all those “things” growing up make a little more sense.
