Cancer Is Not a Joke

As many of you know Sandra from www.AdventuresInMommyLand.com has been my best friend for going on 10 years. I’ve watched her go through the heartbreak of having her husband and 5 year old daughter go through cancer. I don’t think its funny when as a mother Sandra calls me defeated, asking me just how she will go on. Honestly those days I don’t have answers for her, I don’t know how she does it.

Comparison between having to lose 5 lbs and having cancer is not funny. It’s not a joke and in fact it was wrong. It wasn’t said as a joke, it was a “poor me” post. So no, it wasn’t funny and yes YOU WERE WRONG!

Aww, she is such a sweetheart. I’m so sorry she is going through all of that, and no it is not a joke.

  2. Krystyn says:

Cancer is not funny at all…no joking aloud.

  3. Krystyn says:

    Whoops…I meant allowed.

  4. Cancer is no joke at all. I guess what bothers me most is the insensitivity of the whole thing – plain and simple. If nothing else, I wish that had been taken into consideration.
Your daughter is adorable…and very mature. I imagine that is because she has been through so much in her 5 years.

  5. Chelle says:

No laughing joke at all…I’ve known too many people young and old that have fought cancer–and many have lost.

  6. Kai's grandma says:

ANY BODY who thinks Cancer is funny should not have a blog PERIOD!!
How about supporting your fellow human beinings and leave it at that?
