PepsiCo has teamed up together with a company Envirosax, to develop a line of Pepsi Bags which are made from a recycled material called recycled polyethylene terephthalate material otherwise known as RPET. Say that one 5 times fast. RPET is made from up 100% post-consumer recycled materials like soda bottles and plastic bags.  This takes a material which we have much of, and is turned into reusable bags. Each bag is designed to inspire every generation to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Envirosax bags not only save the planet from plastic bag and bottle pollution, but also help on reduce and tleast recycling existing waste creating waste. Um hello, that’s like Recycling awesomeness!

Pepsi Contemporary RPET bags by Envirosax aren’t ordinary because:

  • They are made from fully certified 100% recycled content RPET
  • The plastic bottles used in the recycled RPET materials are sourced from the USA
  • The tags are made from recycled sugar cane and printed with soy inks
  • They are fully washable and easy to carry with you everywhere!
  • They hold 40lbs in weight and roll up to a tiny, 4” parcel

There are two bag group, the Contemporary and Heritage which each have a collection of five bags. The five designs in the Contemporary collection reflect Pepsi through the ages;, starting with a time when life was simpler. This is inspired by a time when pristine unspoiled nature was abundant, and plastic bags, and bottles were fewer and far between.  The five bags in the Heritage collection feature vintage inspired graphics and designs.

Want to Buy! The Pepsi Contemporary and Heritage bags are available at http://shop.pepsiusa.com for $9.99 each.

I think a good way to make an impact is to really think about it when you are purchasing items…I shop at Costco where they are trying to make more usable product with less throwaway packaging….Don’t buy items that have a ton of wasteful stuff that just has to go in a landfill, hopefully companies will start taking notice and make things more earth friendly :D

  28. barbara wright says:

I was chosen by the electric company to test out a meter that would show me how much electricity was costing me per hour. By following their tips, I was able to reduce my usage from 6 cents an hour to 3 cents an hour (when my husband isn’t home. He tells the world that he cares about the environment, but he REALLY means that he cares about OTHER people taking care of the environment – he should still be able to take 20 minute showers every day and never have to turn off a light). Anyway…. here are the changes I made. I replaced all my light bulbs with the energy efficient ones. I turn off computer monitors when they aren’t in use. I do ALL my laundry at the same time so I don’t have to use the energy to heat up my dryer more than once a week. I do any baking I need to do at the same time I’m making dinner so I only have to heat up the oven once. I turn off the heat/air conditioning when I get up in the morning and wait to see if I actually need it (since it gets cool at night, but warms up during the day – so why keep heating the house when the sun is going to do it anyway?). And then of course I do other stuff like recycling everything possible – even grabbing stuff that people at school are planning on throwing away, using my reusable shopping bags 100% of the time, and planning my errands around the kids’ schedules so I can save gas.

The best thing is to reduce don’t by cans or single bottle servings. I also make all my crafts out of products that most would throw out. An example ripped nylons and wire hangers from dry cleaners are turned into reindeer door hangers. Baby Jars are great for making snow globes.

  49. Veronica Garrett says:

I donate my aluminum cans to the Boy Scouts. They collect them for recycling. Our highschool collects newspaper.
