Local Lessons: Central Oregon Coast

Oregon is by far one of my favorite states. There’s so much you can do here, besides some of the World’s Best Brewing Companies. Oregon’s beaches have some wonderful sights to see. While beaches here aren’t made for swimsuits, they are some of the most beautiful beaches.

This weekend we spent time in Lincoln City and Newport, Oregon. While visiting we checked out the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Kaila has been to a number of zoos and other parks but this aquarium offered so much more! Plus this was our very first family trips with Brooklin.

Along the Oregon Coast you will find sights like Sea Lion Caves, unusual beaches, tide pools and even a whale or two. We experienced whale sightings right past Depot Bay and let me say it was magical. One of natures largest mammals right before our eyes.  There’s really no way to explain the excitement, the pure joy of it all.

For us just a weekend quick retreat was enough to bring us back. With all the chaos going on in our life right now it was nice to just hang together. A wonderful end to another memorable summer.

In Oregon we say…

I love living in Oregon (or right across the river). We are an hour and a half from the beach and an hour and a half from the mountains. Glad you had a great time at the coast

We had a great time. There is so much to do, we just had to pick one thing and do it. I would like to make it more south sometime to the sea lion caves. Its a lot more fun these days because Kaila at a learning age and really enjoys seeing and doing all the beach things.
