In 1943 Del’s Grandmother was born. Her weeklong stay at the hospital cost only $44.0o. The Delivery Service was only $5.00. Talk about inflation!! Someone tell me, what was YOUR children’s hospital bill?

Oh lordy… Between Canaan and I we owe crazy hospital bills… I don't even think that I can give you a number without you crappin' your pants!!

  2. YoungMommy says:

Ethan and Zach were in the hospital a total of 7 weeks and the bill came to .5 million. And, that was before my 5 days were added in! LOL

  3. rmgales says:

I have no idea what my child's bill was, but an aspirin cost $44 these days.

  4. Miss Madison's Mommy says:

Wow! My total was $3,000 and we have 'good' insurance! I had her in April and we are still getting bills.

  5. Mariana @ Riding With No Hands says:

Normal childbirth, only 24 hours in the hospital = almost $11K. Ugh. No insurance :(

In 1989 my daughter was in NICU for 19 days before coming home and her total bill was $65,000. I have no clue what my total was I was in and out of the hospital for 1 1/2 months before she was born.

When my hubs was born in '76 his bill was $86.00. Because of my high risk pregnancy and in and out of the hospital Paige cost close to $100,000. Which we paid 10% of. Completely wiped out our savings, but I'd say she's worth every penny!

  9. Lisa says:

Both my kids were in the $20,000 range.

  10. Shannon says:

Carter was born by c-section and just my part alone (before insurance kicked in) was $17,000. You add his part and it was $19,000. Thank goodness for insurance and it didn't cost us that much out of pocket!

  11. Julie. says:

My great aunt dellivered babies in the 30s and 40s. She charged $1. Most families that could afford to pay gave her a silver dollar. She kept all those silver dollars until she died.

  12. kyooty says:

    1999 I didn't see a bill, just copay for 5.00 X10 visits.
2001, I got a one time copay for all my visits for 10.00

youngest born in Canada 75.00 for a semi private room vs 0.00 for a ward.
    Does this help?
