Beech-Nut Baby Food

image

Del is the big baby food tester in our house. Ask him, he’ll tell you he’s tried everything Kaila ate as a baby. Beech Nut sent us some of their Homestyle Baby Food. He tried out the blueberry and pears. I admit it wasn’t that bad, tasted just like fresh berries.

Within the homestyle collection is also cinnamon raisins and pears, peaches apples and bananas, and also apples cherries and plums. I hear the great folks at Beech-Nut prepare a smaller batch. This makes the flavor more real, more like homemade for those fast easy meals.

With school coming up we’re going to need all the fats and easy we can get around here!

Win It!

Keep your kitchen organized and the cupboards well stocked. If you want to get dinner done quick you need to have everything on hand and know where to find everything in your kitchen. Don't waste your time searching for your favorite saucepan or spatula

This is more of a between meal tip, but keep fresh veggies and fruit cleaned and ready to eat in the refrigerator. They are then easily available for either snacking or using for a meal.

I cook my ground turkey as soon as I bring it home from Costco. I always make some as taco meat, some with onions and some plain and then freeze it in 1 lb portions so I can pull already browned meat out of the freezer later for easy food prep.

My tip is to always use leftovers. You can always make sandwiches out of roast, meatloaf, even turkey/dressing/cranberry sauce.

    we love salsa chicken.
take 2 chicken breasts frozen and a jar of salsa put them in the crock pot on low for 6 to 8 hours, and voila. there you have it salsa chicken. we eat ours in tortillas, over pasta, even over tortilla chips. it is a very flexible meal.

Easy meal tip? Chicken Tortilla Soup…Easy to put together in the crock pot & forget it till dinner time. You can even put it together the day before (minus the FROZEN chicken breasts) so it’s easy to turn on the next morning and drop the chicken in, if you don’t stay at home. Email me if you want the recipe!

I buy hamburger meat in bulk, and then separate it into 1 pound ziploc bags and freeze them. Most everything we eat that has hamburger it in uses 1 pound of hamburger, so it’s really easy and convenient. Its also cheaper to buy meat in bulk. :)
