Do you know how important a green space is in your community? I do, I currently live in Portland one of the greenest cities I have ever visited. In our local community everyone thinks green and there are constant project to create green spaces in every community here. Fiskars created a grant program inspiring people from all over to garden and create outdoor green spaces. This program was such a great idea, what a unique idea. Who would have thought, a grant and program to create something all your own! There were so many responses and the applicants were so creative. One I really enjoyed was the rain garden in Bentonville, AR. What a creative and green idea. There are so many more all had special and unique attributes and all made their communities were made netter places. Fiskars Project Orange Thumb was a creative success, it brought communities, families and friends together for a greater cause. The applicants all used creative ideas and way and even children of all ages got involved. An elementary school got so creative they designed a whole curriculum to teach students how to germinate seeds and work together to better their community. Project Orange Thumb was a great success it inspired many communities to learn the importance of gardening. You can create a space all your own and express yourself through this kind of work. My family gardens as my two year old loves the flowers. This past week we planted flowers and cleaned up the area around. It looks better and feels better, and was such a creative way to get my daughter involved. It’s a healthy and fun activity for the whole family and whole community. Everyone and anyone can get involved and teaching children these ideas and skills at early ages so very important. Get involved and be creative design a space or garden you and your family can be proud of!
